The Organisation:
Our client, a full-service bank and wealth manager that offers specialised financial services, is looking for a Credit Risk Officer to join their Risk team.

The Role:
Responsibilities include:
Through a constant process of monitoring and review of credit fundamentals for credit facilities ensure that the overall quality of the loan book is maintained to the highest standards bringing to the attention of Senior Management any deteriorating trends or issues that may or has affected a credit facility.
Following a thorough assessment of the risks involved in an existing credit facility prepare and present a comprehensive report in the Bank’s preferred form with a recommendation on the action to be taken.
As required, prepare formal Facility Letters and Security Documentation to a high standard. Credit facilities will include loans, mortgages, overdrafts, liquidity lines and leverage facilities for funds, foreign exchange facilities, guarantees/standby letters of credit, credit card facilities etc and security will include pledges over cash deposits, mortgages and liens on property under a variety of legal systems (UK, Guernsey, France and others), charges over securities portfolios, etc.
Ensure that all credit and security documentation is properly taken and is effective for its purpose under relevant laws and jurisdictions and perform periodic reviews to ensure the documentation’s ongoing validity.
As required, assist with the monitoring of security provided, reviewing security as necessary in order to identify as early as possible any emerging difficulties with security cover.

The Person:
You will possess the following key characteristics:
Knowledge of credit risk appraisal and structuring techniques together with interpretation of company, trust, fund etc financial statements and cash flow analysis techniques.
Sound report writing skills.
Knowledge of Bermudian, BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, French, Scottish, Liberian, Panamanian and UK Law in so far as this relates to the provision of facilities and the taking of security from entities incorporated in such jurisdictions.
Knowledge and understanding of the Guernsey, London and French (Paris, Cote D’Azur) property markets.
A knowledge and understanding of the workings of securities markets and nature of investments and how they should be weighted and monitored.
An ability to work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication, inter-personal and time management skills.
Good judgement skills.
