Our client is looking for a part time Branch Accountant who will be responsible for providing full accounting support to the whole of the Jersey Branch, and related companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily reconciliation of Liaison Bank Accounts
  • System trade input and / or trade verifications
  • Daily monitoring & adjustment of in house reporting
  • Review any anomalies resulting from daily reconciliations prepared by the Operations team
  • Monitoring daily forex exchange positions
  • Monitoring of General Ledger postings, GL account opening when required
  • Monitoring suspense accounts
  • Posting manual entries to client accounts when required
  • Update client interest rates on receipt of client protocols
  • Monitor staff loans: Make initial payments, collect interest and post to GL
  • Preparation of client income and expense reports
  • Preparation of client audit confirmations
  • Calculation and monitoring payments of manual client fees
  • Control of fiduciary deposit reconciliation
  • Monitoring Branch bill payments and managing process of invoices plus reconciling accounts
  • Monthly accounting of Branch activity
  • Quarterly & Semi-Annual manual Client Fee charging
  • Quarterly & Monthly Jersey Authority reporting
  • Annual Branch Prudential Audit
  • Branch Tax Liability Returns
  • Reviewing tax reporting for clients and the relevant tax submissions (CRS, FATCA, QI)
  • Responsible for the review, sign-ff and upload of the companies tax submissions and QI status
  • Support the delivery of various projects within the business

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Partly qualified accountant
  • Prior accounting experience
  • Experience within in a financial organisation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of tax reporting and trade input

  • Attention to detail and the ability to spot and question data errors (words and figures)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and on occasion under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workload and plan ahead to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with a wide and varied range of queries and requests for assistance from throughout the business
