We have a Chief Technology Officer position, tailored for an experienced IT executive with a strong drive and entrepreneurial mindset with a successful commercial company on the island.

In this role the successful candidate will formulate, direct and deliver an IT strategy which supports the overall strategic direction of the Company. Working closely with the business ensuring that the IT function enables first class ways of working through technology and data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the CEO, Executive and Board and to actively participate in the development, design and implementation of the Company’s vision, mission and strategy
• To develop and deliver a clear IT vision and strategy, which aligns with the Company’s strategy, culture and values and to oversee the development of strategic approaches for all areas of responsibility
• To direct, create and manage computing and information technology strategic plans
• To establish an appropriate IT infrastructure
• Compile and review records to determine department productivity, quality of output, and cost of service; developing methods to continually improve results
• To maintain sophisticated information architectures in order to be able to access the right data at the right speed and the right time
• To manage information and produce business intelligence reports in a timely manner that will help to inform business decisions
• To monitor changes and advancements in technology and drive continuous development of technological capability by identifying emerging information technologies that could enable the Company to gain a competitive advantage
• To oversee the selection and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages
• Ensure tight security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment
• To always abide by the Company’s strong ethics and values, ensure that the behaviour of others is consistent with those standards too

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Executive leadership & service management experience to improve customer experience
• Experienced in IT vision and strategy development 
• Strategic knowledge of the application of technology & infrastructure 
• Proven ability in driving technology and people change 
• Experienced in the application of the Microsoft ecosystem 
• Ability in significant process re-engineering 
• Excellent knowledge of Office365 ecosystem, and how it can be used to digitise the company processes and improve communication and collaboration between teams
• Strong level of business and financial acumen
• Understanding of the importance of cyber security and data governance best practice
• Experience in commercial enterprises; ideally retail business or similar fast moving consumer goods sector
