Apply for this jobWe’re working with a well-established professional services firm seeking an experienced Compliance Framework & Regulatory Engagement Lead to design, strengthen, and evolve a robust compliance framework across the business. This is a high-impact role combining leadership, regulatory engagement, policy ownership, and the smart use of technology to enhance compliance outcomes.
You’ll lead and coach a compliance team, work closely with senior leadership, and act as a key support to the firm’s MLCO, helping ensure the business continues to meet both regulatory and best-practice standards in a dynamic and evolving environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework, including policies, procedures, systems, and controls
- Lead compliance monitoring and testing programmes, ensuring adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure policies and procedures remain current, proportionate, and aligned with regulatory expectations
- Prepare and present clear, insightful compliance reports to the Leadership team
- Lead, coach, and develop a compliance team, fostering a strong compliance culture across the firm
- Embed and optimise compliance-related technology to drive efficiencies and enhance oversight
- Act as primary support to the MLCO, contributing to the development and application of AML/CFT and CPF policies and procedures
- Support the management of regulatory relationships, including engagement with the Jersey regulator
- Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory, financial crime, and sanctions risks
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A relevant professional qualification (ie. ACCA, ICAEW)
- ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance — or willingness to complete once in role
- Strong knowledge of Channel Islands laws and regulations
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience, ideally within a compliance, monitoring, audit, or internal audit function
- Experience managing or supporting relationships with regulators
- Familiarity with global compliance frameworks and best practice
- Experience as an MLRO, Deputy MLRO, or within a financial crime team (including SAR handling) would be advantageous
