We’re supporting a leading organisation in their search for a Data Engineer to join their growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in designing, building, and deploying enterprise-scale data analytics solutions — transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

This role is perfect for someone with strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals, who enjoys solving problems, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to work with modern cloud platforms and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and accessible
• Build and manage data models, data warehouses, and reporting solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
• Deploy and optimise solutions in cloud-based data platforms
• Apply data governance and best practices to ensure compliance and integrity
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, adopting DataOps and DevOps practices

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Strong proficiency in SQL and database concepts
• Programming experience — ideally Python, but R, Java, Scala, or similar also welcome
• Experience with or strong interest in data warehousing concepts
• Hands-on experience (or strong theoretical knowledge with enthusiasm to apply it) in ETL/ELT
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
• Knowledge of data governance principles
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
• Understanding of DataOps/DevOps practices
• Background in financial services or legal sectors is desirable
