Are you a seasoned compliance professional looking to take on a leadership role in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Deputy Head of Compliance to play a key role in ensuring robust regulatory oversight across a diverse range of financial activities.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for providing expert regulatory guidance, overseeing internal monitoring, managing regulatory reporting, and ensuring adherence to compliance best practices. Additionally, you will be expected to obtain and hold the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) and MLCO (Money Laundering Compliance Officer) “Key Person” regulatory designations from the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with and deputise for the Head of Compliance, in driving achievement of varied compliance function deliverables
  • Help facilitate Compliance team management of relationships with the JFSC and with other regulators
  • Develop, critique and maintain compliance monitoring systems and controls (including policies and procedures)
  • Keep up to date on relevant regulatory developments
  • Perform and manage team allocation of day-to-day compliance monitoring tasks
  • Provide reporting as required to the relevant Board of Directors, the Audit Committee, other board and management committees
  • Oversee maintenance of compliance registers
  • Provide compliance and regulatory training to employees

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years’ relevant work experience, a minimum of five of which must be in compliance, ideally in a funds/asset management business
  • International Diploma in Compliance (or equivalent)
  • Have or be willing to study for ‘Series 3’ examination (US National Commodities Futures Examination)
  • Extensive experience in compliance, regulatory advisory, or AML within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of JFSC regulations and international compliance frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage regulatory reporting, internal monitoring, and AML oversight
  • Eligibility to hold “Key Person” roles (MLRO and MLCO) in Jersey
