We’re partnering with a leading professional services organisation to appoint a Deputy Managing Director to play a pivotal role in the leadership, performance and continued growth of its Jersey business, spanning both private wealth and institutional services.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced fiduciary, legal or financial services professional who combines strong commercial judgement with operational leadership and a deep understanding of the Jersey market. Working closely with the Managing Director and local Board, you’ll help shape and execute the jurisdiction’s strategy, drive business performance, strengthen operational delivery and maintain the highest standards of governance and client service.

With the opportunity to act for the Managing Director when required, this role will also form part of the future succession planning for the Jersey MD position, offering significant scope to influence the direction and long-term success of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Managing Director and Board to set and deliver the Jersey business strategy
  • Provide visible leadership across the jurisdiction, ensuring strong alignment, accountability and delivery across business lines
  • Drive revenue, profitability and sustainable growth
  • Support business development and the growth of existing client relationships, maintaining consistently high standards of client service
  • Build strong relationships with key clients, intermediaries and external stakeholders, acting as a senior representative of the business in the market
  • Oversee operational performance across service lines, driving efficiency
  • Provide leadership on complex or escalated client matters, protecting client outcomes and the reputation of the business
  • Work closely with Risk and Compliance to maintain a robust governance and control environment and ensure regulatory and Group requirements are met
  • Support the Managing Director and Board with transparent reporting across financial, operational, risk and business performance
  • Contribute to budgets, forecasts and financial planning, working with the Financial Controller to monitor performance and drive corrective action
  • Drive the adoption of Group systems, technology and processes to enhance consistency, efficiency and scalability
  • Serve as a Director on relevant Jersey boards and undertake wider governance and directorship responsibilities as required
  • Act for the Managing Director where required, providing continuity of leadership and ensuring momentum across the business

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified professional, ideally as an Accountant, Lawyer or Trust Practitioner (STEP or ICSA)
  • Minimum 10 years’ post-qualifying experience, including at least 5 years’ experience at Board level
  • Significant senior leadership experience within fiduciary, trust, corporate, private wealth and/or fund services
  • Excellent understanding of the fiduciary and fund services environment, with detailed knowledge of the Jersey regulatory framework
  • Strong experience managing risk, governance, regulatory and client matters at senior level
  • Experience of leading significant change, transformation, integration or business improvement initiatives would be highly advantageous

  • Confident and credible senior leader, comfortable engaging with Boards, clients, regulators and Group stakeholders
  • Strong decision-maker with sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively under pressure
  • Must be Entitled or Entitled to work in Jersey
