Our client an investment firm are seeking a Finance Officer / Trainee Accountant. This would suit school leaver with strong grades looking to move into accountancy / a partly qualified accountant / someone with previous finance experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of day-to-day financial transactions and supporting other members of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage fixed asset registers ensuring that all capital expenditure is authorised and accounted for in line with group policy
  • Manage the sales and purchase ledgers
  • Prepare the daily bank account and treasury loan
  • Weekly and month end bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the day-to-day integrity of the general ledgers, procedures and controls
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies 
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Involvement in the annual audit
  • Optimise the use of the group's financial management system 
  • Provide support and perform ad hoc reporting as requested by the team
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong A levels and a bookkeeping or accountancy foundation-level qualification are desirable
  • Ambition to study towards gaining a relevant accounting qualification, but not essential

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong team player with ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across jurisdictions
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and to be comfortable working within a results driven environment with accuracy and focus
  • Strong personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise their workload
