Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their ambitious and friendly in-house finance team on a 12–15-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing team and influence key financial decisions within a prestigious organisation.

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the financial reporting team (team of 4), ensuring accurate and timely financial data to drive informed decision-making. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in managing reporting processes, enhancing financial controls, and providing key commercial insights that contribute to the firm's continued success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and mentor the financial reporting team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency
• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements
• Support the Head of Finance in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance financial operations
• Work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial insights to support business strategy

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Qualified Accountant with extensive accounting experience
• Demonstrable commercial acumen
• Experience utilising a practice management system; Elite 3e, Viewpoint would be useful but not essential
