Funds Compliance Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Funds Compliance Officer to our client’s team and take charge of a critical role that covers the regulated positions of Money Laundering Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
The post holder will have a direct reporting line to the Non-executive directors and will meet with the Non-executive directors, as required at their request, independently of the wider Board.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) within the organisation
- Ensure all JFSC regulations and codes of practice are correctly incorporated into the company’s policies and procedures
- Preparation of papers, attendance and minuting the proceedings of the Risk and Compliance Committee meetings
- Representing the company to all relevant external agencies (such as JFSC, JFCU),
- Maintain awareness of his/her and the company’s responsibilities under the applicable laws and JFSC Handbook for the Prevention and Detection of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism
- Design, implement, and continuously improving the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and compliance programs
- Conduct in-depth due diligence on clients, transactions, and counterparties to detect and prevent suspicious activities
- Develop, enhance, and execute risk-based AML and CTF training programs for employees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to stay ahead of emerging AML, risks and regulatory changes
- Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory authorities as required
- Conduct internal investigations and audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to proactively identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced in dealing with compliance and regulatory matters
- Hold a relevant professional qualification or working towards it
- Must be accepted as a JFSC key person
- Must be willing to undergo ongoing training
- A deep understanding of local regulations and best practices
