Head of Tax, Family Office
Apply for this jobWe're partnering with a prestigious international Family Office to recruit an experienced Head of Tax. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a complex, multi-jurisdictional tax function, supporting a diverse portfolio of family members, trusts, investment vehicles, operating companies and real estate holdings. Working closely with senior stakeholders and trusted external advisers, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the family's global tax affairs are managed efficiently, compliantly and strategically.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the coordination of the Family Office's global tax affairs across individuals, trusts, foundations, companies and investment structures
- Manage annual tax compliance calendars across multiple jurisdictions
- Act as the primary liaison with external tax advisers, accountants, auditors, legal counsel, trustees and investment managers
- Oversee tax obligations relating to investment vehicles, operating businesses, partnerships, real estate holdings and other family structures
- Review tax reports, calculations, payment instructions and externally prepared tax filings for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain comprehensive tax records, entity documentation, tax residency information and supporting schedules
- Monitor the tax implications of investments, capital calls, distributions, loans, asset transfers, gifts and other significant transactions
- Coordinate tax information requests from banks, custodians, fund managers, trustees and administrators
- Oversee compliance with FATCA, CRS, transfer pricing, VAT/GST, payroll taxes, economic substance and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Prepare tax updates, risk reports and briefing papers for senior management and family governance committees
- Identify tax risks, compliance gaps and opportunities for process improvements while ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality and governance
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Professional accounting or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in international tax, private wealth, family office, private client or corporate tax environments
- Excellent knowledge of international tax reporting and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals, family offices or private investment structures would be highly advantageous
- Substantial experience managing tax matters across complex, multi-jurisdictional ownership, investment and corporate structures
