Investment Analyst - Family Office
Apply for this jobWe have a truly unique opportunity within a Family Office with international presence for an Investment Analyst.
The Investment Analyst would join the Investments team who operate a quantitative investment model.
The ideal candidate will ideally have a mathematical and modelling background and also the ability to code in any of the languages (e.g. SQL, MATLAB, C+, VBA, R).
Strong academics will be required, as will the ability to analyse problems and work with investment data calculations on a daily basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:.
- Assist with the maintenance of existing investment models
- Research topics and develop new models and strategies (under the direction of the Investment Managers)
- Perform statistical analysis to support the front office
- Analytical review and explanation of investment results, including creation of system generated reports
- Perform daily cash reconciliation to back office, including assistance with resolution of any differences
- Maintain the process by which security transactions are recorded, including pre-trade checks to ensure that transactions are made in accordance with the mandate, and troubleshooting where issues occur
- Ensure breaches are communicated to the back office
- Create and update reports, including Investment Managers reports and automated mandate compliance checks
- Rectify any technical issues with software interfaces
- Provide technical support in ad hoc software and reporting developments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong Excel skills (e.g. able to use VLOOKUP, conditional statements)
- Proficiency with any coding language (e.g. SQL, MATLAB, C+, VBA, R)
- Working knowledge of databases (Microsoft Access or SQL)
- Experience with report design, writing and implementation (SQL, Excel, and PDF)
- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate diploma, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math

- Understanding of investment instruments such as bonds, equities, and futures
- Self-starter, with the ability to plan and organise own workload
- Adaptable to change and happy to work closely with others as part of a small, focused team
- Attention to detail, with excellent time management and analytical skills
- Strong ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
