Junior Legal Counsel, Family Office
Apply for this jobWe are supporting a Family Office with the appointment of a Junior Legal Counsel, offering an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer to make their first move in-house. The role will suit someone with 1–3 years’ PQE in corporate and commercial law who is looking to broaden their experience within a varied and commercially focused environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and draft a range of legal documentation, including contracts, agreements, NDAs and board documentation
- Provide practical legal support across corporate, commercial and company law matters
- Organise board meetings and AGMs, including preparation of related documentation
- Work with external law firms across common law and civil law jurisdictions on a variety of legal matters
- Support matters including employment, contracts, property transactions, trust-related matters and ad hoc agreements
- Identify and assess legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation
- Ensure all entities remain compliant with their legal and regulatory obligations
- Maintain an organised and effective legal filing system
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Fully qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
- 1–3 years’ PQE within a corporate and commercial legal environment
- Solid practical knowledge of company law and corporate restructuring
- Experience drafting and reviewing commercial legal documentation
- Strong understanding of legal risk and compliance requirements
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially minded with a practical approach to legal matters
- Confident working with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers
- Must be Entitled or Entitled to work in Jersey
