Management Accountant
Apply for this jobWe are seeking a Management Accountant to join a growing finance team within an established real estate finance business. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a hands-on and varied role covering management reporting, month-end, general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash management and financial analysis. The role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and offers excellent exposure and scope for continued professional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Group Financial Controller with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and general ledger transactions
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, recharges and other routine adjustments
- Complete bank, balance sheet, intercompany and other key account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with agreed deadlines
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing clear explanations and commentary where required
- Monitor cash movements and support cash flow reporting and payment processes
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure the integrity and quality of financial data
- Support year-end audit and financial reporting processes, preparing schedules and supporting documentation as required
- Follow appropriate financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and efficiency
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business and wider group, including senior stakeholders across global offices
- Provide support with financial analysis, payroll, finance projects and other ad hoc requirements as the role develops
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Ideally newly qualified to around 2 years' post-qualification experience
- Experience gained within an internal finance function, with practical exposure to transactional finance and month-end processes
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems; experience with Xero or similar would be advantageous
- Experience supporting management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Previous experience within real estate, lending or financial services would be advantageous but is not essential
