We are seeking a Senior Associate to join a high-performing Dispute Resolution team, advising a diverse portfolio of clients on complex, high-value matters. This is a key role for an experienced litigator who combines strong technical capability with commercial judgement, enjoys client interaction, and is confident managing matters independently while contributing to the wider success of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide sound, high-quality technical legal advice and strategic guidance to clients across a range of dispute resolution matters
  • Manage files independently from inception to conclusion with minimal partner or senior fee earner input, ensuring efficient and effective matter management
  • Take full responsibility for day-to-day management of matters, including reprioritising workload to meet client and internal deadlines
  • Act as a recognised specialist within your area of expertise and serve as a key point of contact for clients
  • Ensure clients are kept fully informed regarding fees, disbursements, and ongoing cost updates throughout each matter
  • Manage personal financial responsibilities in line with firm policies, including time recording, billing, WIP management, and debt collection
  • Proactively ensure timely collection of fees in accordance with internal procedures
  • Identify and pursue peer-to-peer business development opportunities, including cross-referral work across practice areas and jurisdictions
  • Prepare for and attend business development meetings, contributing to positive commercial outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Lawyer with typically 5+ years’ PQE
  • Strong academic background, including minimum 2:1 degree and Commendation/Distinction at LPC (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience gained within a reputable law firm environment, ideally Magic or Silver Circle (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated consistent high performance over recent financial years
  • Prior experience in Jersey or offshore jurisdictions is desirable but not essential
  • Strong technical dispute resolution experience with the ability to handle complex matters independently
  • Excellent drafting, legal writing, and communication skills

  • Confident managing a varied caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Client-focused with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Proactive, commercially aware, and motivated to contribute to business development initiatives
  • Must be Entitled or Entitled to work in Jersey
