Senior Manager, Fund Accountant
Apply for this jobFollowing a successful acquisition and continued growth, our client is expanding its Guernsey team and is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Fund Accountant. The client is also open to considering candidates currently operating at Associate Director level.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional client service, mentoring junior team members and supporting the continued development of the funds function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the accurate and timely bookkeeping of fund and corporate structures
- Prepare financial statements and deliver investor, client and regulatory reporting within agreed deadlines
- Coordinate accounting matters across a portfolio of fund structures, including attendance at board and shareholder meetings where required
- Process and oversee routine and complex fund accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advisors and auditors, providing a high standard of service throughout the client lifecycle
- Support the establishment of new structures and the transition of new business.
- Mentor, supervise and allocate work to junior members of the team, providing guidance and support
- Drive process improvements and contribute to the continued development of accounting policies, procedures and technology
- Act as a payment approval signatory and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to business development initiatives, industry events and raising the firm's profile within the local market
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- ACCA or ACA qualified
- A minimum of 8 years' experience within fund accounting, with demonstrable experience operating at a similar level
- Strong technical knowledge of fund accounting, financial statement preparation and associated reporting requirements
- Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Sound understanding of the regulatory and legal framework within the financial services industry
- Previous experience managing, mentoring or leading teams is highly desirable
