Talent & Development Manager - 12 month fixed term contract
Apply for this jobReporting to the Head of Talent & Development, this 12-month fixed term role offers a hybrid working model and has been created to provide cover for the Legal Talent & Development Manager. It is a hands-on, advisory position with real impact, focused on ensuring the legal professionals have the support they need to thrive and progress in their careers.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, partnering with senior leaders, HR colleagues and external providers to deliver high-quality learning, development and talent initiatives aligned to the needs of a fast-paced, global professional services environment.
This role would suit an experienced L&D or Talent professional who enjoys operating as a trusted advisor and who understands the nuances of legal career development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a strategic business partner to the legal function, identifying development needs and translating these into effective learning and talent solutions
- Design, deliver and evaluate engaging development programmes across multiple career stages, using a blend of in-person and virtual delivery
- Provide expert guidance on legal career pathways, routes to qualification and external qualifications, with particular focus on the SQE
- Manage and coordinate learning activity using the firm’s learning management system and digital platforms
- Facilitate workshops, programmes and development sessions for legal professionals at varying levels of seniority
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure high-quality, relevant development interventions
- Ensure all learning initiatives are aligned with firm-wide talent and development strategies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of legal career paths, routes to qualification and external qualifications, particularly the SQE
- Proven advisory and consultancy skills, with a business partner mindset
- Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating both in-person and online development activities
- Confidence using virtual delivery tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Familiarity with learning management systems and digital learning platforms

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills
- Must be Entitled or Entitled to work in Jersey
